BRINGING GREATER SPEED TO TENNIS

Philip Feingold's Philgym Speed Academy is giving young players a decisive advantage. While the general public often does not think of tennis as a sport where exceptional speed is required, tennis players know different.

"Speed is one of the most important skills a tennis player can have. Right up there with a great serve and a strong volley, speed on the court can make much of the difference between a struggling player and a young champion," Feingold said.

Anyone can imagine the countless times they have seen the ball smashed to the opposite side of the court, only to see the opponent stand helplessly unable to reach it in time.

A player with effective speed training can often muster the footwork and other factors to quickly dash to the ball and return it. Feingold teaches speed training as part of the Philgym Speed Academy. The program is administered in four different locations in New Jersey and New York City.
